Albertus Andito is a PhD student in Natural Language Processing and a Computer Science graduate from the University of Sussex, with a year of experience in industry. He is interested in NLP and machine learning, as well as their applications in real-life problems. At Concept Analytics Lab Albertus was responsible for the original development of the API method and continues to provide NLP support to the team.
Becky Hunt is a CHASE-funded PhD student in Linguistics at Sussex. She has recently completed her MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL at the University of Sussex. She is a Research Assistant at the Concept Analytics Lab and specialises in corpus linguistics.
Caitlin Hogan is a LISS-DTP funded PhD student in Linguistics at Queen Mary University of London, and a graduate in Linguistics from the University of Chicago. She specialises in the analysis of social media discourse among online fan communities through corpus-assisted discourse analysis as well as qualitative methods and ethnography.
Eddie O’Hara-Brown is a Doctoral Tutor of Linguistics at the University of Sussex. She is currently studying for her PhD in computational historical linguistics. Her research specialisms include lexical and semantic variation and change, corpus linguistics, and computational linguistic methodologies. She is a Research Assistant at the Concept Analytics Lab.
Gayathri Sooraj is a Data Science Research Assistant at the the Concept Analytics Lab. She completed an MSc in Data Science (Sussex). She obtained her Bachelor’s with Honors in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Calicut. Her specialisations include Speech Recognition and Synthesis and other aspects of NLP.
Julie Weeds is a Professor in Computer Science at the University of Sussex. She specialises in Natural Language Processing.
Justyna Robinson is the Concept Analytics Lab lead. She is a Reader (Senior Associate Professor) in English Language and Linguistics at the University of Sussex. She specialises in semantic variation and change, cognitive linguistics, and corpus linguistics.
Rhys Sandow is a Senior Research Associate at the Concept Analytics Lab. He finished his PhD at the University of Sussex in 2021. His research specialisms include language variation and change, semantics, research methods, corpus linguistics, and discourse analysis.
Sandra Young is a researcher, translator and interpreter. She completed her PhD at the University of Brighton in 2021. Her research specialisms include lexical variation, corpus linguistics and knowledge representation. She is a Senior Research Associate with the Concept Analytics Lab.
Will Kearney is a Research Associate at the Concept Analytics Lab. He has recently completed an MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Adaptive Systems in the School of Informatics at the University of Sussex. His research interests center around using computational models to explore perception, cognition, and consciousness.
Yassir Laaouach is a Research Associate at the Concept Analytics Lab. He joined Sussex as an MSc student in Artificial Intelligence and Adaptive Systems under two academic scholarships. He completed his MSc in 2022. His main area of research interest is Bio-inspired Neural models for Natural Language Processing Tasks and word representation.
